Michael played his course

Michael has been very frustrated that he has not been able to play golf very much this summer due to the move. It has been killing him living right on a course to top things off. Well, today, he was a very happy man. Not only did he get to play golf, he got to play the ridiculously priced course we are on (we had a coupon!).

I got a job!!!!

Michael decorated while I was out. I was doing a temp. job and the county called me and offered me a job as a caseworker. I start on October 6th.

Feeling Old...

I have my 10-year high school reunion in November, and it seems to have spurred many emotions. Audra posted this on her blog and I stole it! This was senior year, really, that long ago?? Although Michael and I are only a month apart in age, he continues to remind me that I am older due to the fact that he graduated a year after me (stupid Sept. birthday, that's why I was the youngest in my class)

The Public Library

In the craziness of trying to settle in, I have rediscovered a past time that I had given up so long ago...reading! Crazy huh? I mean I have had my share of textbooks and I remember a time when I actually enjoyed reading. Where did that go? So in an effort to feel a part of the community, I set out on my quest to find the library. I ran up to the front desk and requested a library card, do you know how long it has been since I have done that? Years! I was by myself so there was no rush to pick out a book. I took my time perusing everything. I was a kid in a candy store.
Then, to top it off, one of closest friends from high school, (that unfortunately lives in NC), turned me on to a site where we can share the books we are reading and make suggestions (goodreads.com)
I sound like such a nerd.

I cannot describe how beautiful it is looking out from our apartment balcony some nights. It was raining and gloomy the last two days, but this is what we received in return for patience.
