Breakfast Club @ Red Rocks

We went to Red Rocks tonight. The outdoor amphitheater had a band playing and then they showed "Breakfast Club" on a big screen. Can you even imagine watching a movie surrounded by a natural rock amphitheater?? So cool!

Hiking-Royal Arch Attempt

Casey and I got up bright and early and made it out to Chautauqua Park in Boulder for a hike. We hiked for three hours and made it to the summit. To our dismay, the arch was still a ways away. We would have had to hike in the blazing sun a while longer and we needed to make sure we had enough water to get back down. Attempt # 2 will have to be next weekend. We ended up walking into the Farmer's Market and walked for several more hours. Good thing we called it quits when we did.

Lookout Mountain - Golden, Co

Hiking on Lookout Mountian (resting place of Buffalo Bill).
We had just made it to the top...after 30 minutes (lena said it'd take at least 2 hours)

New Couch

After almost a week of using camping chairs, we found a couch! As you can see our entertainment center is still boxes, but we are getting there. It took us a while to agree on one. We had given up on finding one when we came across this. Looks more like a home now :)

The Place

View from the master bedroom intil the living room/kitchen
Bathroom
This is the den. Instead of a two-bedroom (which cost more), we have what they consider a den. There is no door and it is open into the living room. It is going to be Michael's home office.
The kitchen has unbelievable cherry cabinets and a breakfast bar.
This is the living room with fireplace.

View from the living room window and you can see what the units look like.

First offical day in CO

Our apartment will not be ready until next week, but we could not wait to at least check the building out. This is the view from between the buildings that are in front of us. Do you see those mountains??

We went to the Westminster and Boulder farmer's market. Here is Michael and Jaxon. We picked up lots of fresh fruit and veggies. In Boulder, we walked down Pearl St. and Jaxon, the mountain-climber/cutest baby in the world spent time playing on the boulders. So did Uncle Michael :)

We're Here

Still Day 2, but we rolled into Colorado and had to grab a shot. Ironically, after leaving Nebraska and entering into Colorado it was very dry, extremely hot, and by no means "colorful". We have a few more hours to drive until we reach the final destination but to actually make it this far has been amazing. Staying with my sister for the week; our apartment will be ready a week from today.

Day 2-Almost there

This was the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument we went past in Nebraska. We are getting so close to Colorado I can feel it. Really windy here, but it feels great. We just want to be out of the car! Also came across an exit to the original Pony Express Station. At least we got to be a little touristy on the trip.

Day 1

Day one consisted of leaving Kalamazo, MI and ending up in Omaha, Nebraska. The route put us through Indiana, Illinois, and a very long stretch through Iowa. We are here safe in Omaha for the night and should be in Denver by dinner on Saturday. Ordered a pizza in the room last night and crashed early.

Did I mention we are moving across the country with a cat? Here is Michael and Bacchus at the welcome center in Iowa getting in a "cat" stretch.

The ACTUAL Move

We have talked about it for months now but it is really happening. Nobody thought that we would actually be able to fit our things in two cars, but here is proof. Car #1

Car #2
